As an embarrassed new revert who managed to leave Islam before I really got into a mess, I would like to second the above. Islam is given a very nice shine, a good old wipe over and this erases the sexual filth in the hadith, the highly unusual verses, contradictions and the fact that science is actually (and most disappointingly for me) against the Qur'an.

Fastest growing religion? I can see why it would be because the truth about Mohammed is hidden. I actually respected him very much until I decided to open my eyes from the clever trance the brotherhood of accepting Muslims wound me up in. Good god, it's so shameful how I fell for it reading back now, but the outside package is very good for those who don't search for the Hadith, and really read in detail the Qur'an.

In my opinion it wouldn’t surprise me that it is the fastest growing religion because the Islam most reverts are shown is not the true one. I saw Islam as a religion that sat perfectly with Science for one...until I looked like, outside of Islam to see if it sat perfectly with science. Yes I was dumb but Islam was a nice escape and answered things and is presented very nicely to reverts. Simply because the truth is hidden about Mohammed.

A suggestion to any reverts reading this is to check out the hadiths for yourself elsewhere. Not even here, find the Hadiths for yourself and see how Mohammed wished to marry crawling babies if only they were grown up. How he was attracted to a girl of 6 years old for Gods sake. Reverts reading, no one is making this up...nothing I’ve read so far on this site that claims to be a hadith or verse from Qur'an is invented or distorted. This stuff is in OUR book and is the teaching of our Prophet. Well not mine anymore THANK GOD.

And how his wives were given plucked from amongst the slave women and he only went for the most delicious looking young girls and enslaved them for his insatiable sexual urges. Man, it truly is horrible to read once you find all this. It's like one of his wives was so scared of his advances they pretended to pray. The stomach turning insatiable appetite Mohammed had for women is really disturbing but not many reverts will ever discover this, it's kept well hidden if they don’t use the net much like me.

Obviously I feel like a fool for being sucked in by the whole thing, but I had my excuses at the time. Now I’m glad to be done of it. I don't agree all Muslims are terrorists and some of the other madness I read at the anti Islam sites. Most Muslims especially new reverts only skim the surface, read apologetic translations of the Qur'an and do not read the Hadith for themselves. So to them, as it seemed to me, Islam is a peaceful religion.

When in fact it's a disturbing cult almost, with some very intelligent and articulate defenders of it who can be very convincing to someone who almost needs to hear it, or someone searching. If the Islam I was initially shown, was actually the true Islam, I would still be Muslim now, but Islam practiced by it's "Prophet" is not the one most Muslims especially reverts are shown.

Christianity is no better to me, I give up on religion. I looked into Christianity first and that book is almost as bad to be honest. But at least Christians don’t have to defend disgusting and embarrassing sex adventures of their Prophet / Leader / God. I mean honestly it's sickening all of this I’ve discovered over the last few days so forgive this outburst.

My view on this religion stuff now, is that something made us but that’s it, don't know who...we will never know while we're here on earth / alive. I just leave it at that. Sorry but Muslims need to wake up. It only took me a few months. Why are some reverts still Muslims after years have passed? You seriously have to look into Islam for yourself sometime, and once you do, from there on it's either denial or walking away from it, no in between.
